City of Utica Case Study

Client – City of Utica

Project: Public Information and Outreach; Stakeholder Relations in support of a Citywide Neighborhood-Based Comprehensive Master Plan

Goals: Help the City successfully generate dialogue and build support in order to successfully implement a community-based Master Plan designed to make downtown Utica competitive in the regional marketplace as a place to live, work, gather and entertain.

Efforts: Working as part of the master plan team, The Paige Group has been retained to assist the City with building and managing stakeholder relationships; identifying issues; developing key messages; translating complex project data into consumable information; developing recommendations regarding the most effective outreach methodologies; and conducting community dialogues and media relations efforts.

Outcomes: Since work began in March 2009, we have assisted with public relations surrounding the rollout announcement in coordination with the mayor’s   “State of the City” address. Through our counsel and strategic advice, project has benefited from a steering committee structure. We also provide assistance on community stakeholder input processes and plans for information conveyance; media relations; and public information functions.
